That brings us to the powerful cry:
“Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from the body of this death?”
And then comes the answer:
“I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord!”
Religion cannot rescue us. Good works cannot rescue us. Trying harder cannot rescue us. Jesus Christ is our rescue.
And for those in Christ, we no longer have to depend on our own strength. Through the Holy Spirit, we can learn to walk in the freedom, victory, and new identity God has given us.
